a murder

Grandma Colvilles recipe for Easy Fruit Pie.
** I cut the recipe in half for just the two of us.
Start by setting the oven at 425 and melt 1/2 stick of butter
in a dish of your choice. The bigger the dish the thinner it will be and the faster it will cook. I use a 9 inch ceramic pie plate.
1 cup self rising flour (all purpose is fine, it just makes it more dense)
1 cup sugar
stir together with a wire whisk
add 1 cup milk (canned or from the jug either works)
1 tsp. vanilla
mix it all together while your butter is melting.
Once the butter is melted, take it out of the oven and
pour the batter over the melted butter.
Then take your choice of canned fruit, canned pie filling or frozen fruit that has been thawed what ever you like.
I used cherry pie filling.
Spoon your fruit over the batter. Do Not Stir. Just drop spoofulls over the batter.
Juice and all.
Bake 45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream, whipped cream or plain, I am eating mine with snow cream tonight
Let me know if you try it!
