Foodie penpals

Image
Hey Y'all! This month I participated for the first time in the Foodie Pen Pals swap at  The Lean Green Bean , I found the blog as I was blog hopping using that little "next blog" button at the top of a lot of blogs,  one night as I was bored I just kept hitting that little button and when I saw the title of the blog I stopped to check it out, and found...A SWAP!... Y'all know how I love a swap. The way it works is you get a person to send to and a person who will send to you, not the same person that way you get to meet 2 new people :) It has a HUGE following I think I read over 3000!  So whatcha do is email and get to know them a bit, follow whatever diet restrictions they have and fill a box with $15.00 worth of food items suited to your partner. Tess is who had me, her blog is  Cross Country Cajun , she is such a sweetie! I told her how I love to try "regional" favorites and how I lean to sweet over salty, well the box she sent was so full of yummy g

Art Journal

Image
Hey Y'all how are you today? I am worn out here today, I have been working nights since Sunday setting up the toy department for the holidays and my hiney is whipped...lol 1 more night to go! Hopefully we will be 100% finished tonight and only 1 day over the schedule for getting it done. OK! So about 2 weeks ago the amazing Jenny and Aaron at Everyday Is A Holiday  announced that they were offering a FREE Art Journal Class! I seriously love those 2 and I jumped at the chance to learn from them. For some reason I have yet to figure out, the idea of creating an art journal has intimidated me for a LONG time. I have had a composition book and a sketch book I have picked up and put down more times than I can count, every time I go to start, I get all nervous and can't do it. CRAZY! SO when they offered to teach I said count me in. So here are my first pages. Today is class number 2, I will either be asleep or at work when today's class gets posted,

Hey Y'all, How are ya today? So as many of you know I am a voracious reader and have been for most of my life. My parents instilled a love of reading in me almost from birth. When I was small we had a bed time EVEN IN SUMMER! It was sheer TORTURE  to have to go to bed when the sun was still up! So our compromise was that I had to stay in bed, but I could read until I fell asleep or it got dark outside...thus began a life long love affair with the written word. Which brings me to sharing with you one of my favorite authors. Joanne Fluke. Have you read any of her books? She writes about  Hannah Swensen who runs a cookie shop called the "Cookie Jar" in (fictional) Lake Eden, Minnesota. Oh that Hannah, and the adventures she has. In every book there are mouth watering recipes. I can tell you I have made several of them and I have never been disappointed! The first book I read was Blueberry Muffin (3rd in the series) and Oh my stars are those muffins the best! I think I have

Finally Friday!

Hey Y'all, how are ya this Hot August Friday? I am tired here in Virginia. We had inventory at my store this week and it was a doozy.  I have to work overnight a few nights coming up so we can re-do the toy department to get it ready for the holiday season. So today I am gonna enjoy my day off and just piddle. Tomorrow if the rain stays away I am going to take myself down to the county fair. I'll let you know if I get to go :) Today I wanted to share my Tag-A-Month tag with ya. Again I want to remind you there is still PLENTY of time left if you want to join in. Thanks Tee for hosting such a fun year long swap! This month my swap partner is Fran at The Bagg lady . She is a sweet and creative lady! I hope she likes my tag for her. This month the theme was Sun or Bathing Beauty, I picked the Bathing Beauty theme. I wish I could remember where I found this image, I forgot to make a note of it, but I thought she made the perfect Bathing Beauty.of course I had to add some s
