Hey Y'all, how are you today? Doing OK here in Virginia today. So this month I participated in my second swap with Foodie Pen Pals at The Lean Green Bean. you can read all about it here . This is such a fun swap! This month I sent my box to New Orleans To Kate at Kate Is Eating , she is such a sweetie and it was great fun putting her box together for her. My box came from Bridget in Georgia. She is lovely and sent me such yummy gifts! I LOVE to try foods that are regional and specific to where you live; you know Buffalo Wing Sauce from Buffalo, Cheese from Wisconsin...you get the idea, well this southern lady sent me locally stone ground yellow grits...LOVE...I love grits, but have never had yellow grits, I have always eaten and buy white, it's just what I am used to so yellow was new to me, but I made a bowl of cheese grits and chowed down! YUMMY! She also sent me a gift pack of sweet honey harvested and bottled in Savannah. I must admit I have only ever had clover honey

A RE-Post...

Hey Y'all! How are ya today? The weather is cooler...I am anxiously awaiting the first frost of fall! I think that is my favorite day of the year...well next to a snow day that is! I was fiddling around my blog, looking at the page views and out of nowhere this post had 6 views today, so I thought I would re-post it, I still feel it and believe it as much today as I did last year when I wrote it. As a matter of fact, reading it made me feel better. This post is from last November, I did a month of counting my blessings, this was day 2. Today I am thankful and blessed. I am thankful today that I am saved by grace. I love knowing Jesus as my savior. Image from google I love the knowledge that no matter what He is there for me. My dad told me once that when times are so tough, if you just imagine sitting with Jesus and talking to Him it will get better. I often picture in my minds eye sitting on the beach with Jesus on my right and my dad on my left and my husband behind me

9/11

My thoughts and prayers are with all the families of those lost 11 years ago. While I know the greatest loss of life was in New York, we often forget that we lost a multitude of souls  here in Virginia and in a field in Pennsylvania, don't forget them and their families too. God Bless You All!

Autumn

I am anxiously awaiting FALL!  This summer has been brutal on all of us and I am so ready for the crisp cool days of fall. Days free of humidity and full of cool breezes, long walks and cozy nights on the couch. image from google search Pumpkin Bread and Hot Chocolate. Apple Cider and Stews cooked in the Crock Pot Fresh Apples and a fire in the fire pit. (sigh) It can't get here fast enough for me! Time for a trip to Colonial Williamsburg image from google search It is such a wonderful place. We love to go there and just walk around. Sadly this is something I can't so with Lee anymore, he just can't walk that much. Lee and I would drive up for the day and just walk the cobblestone streets for hours holding hands, watching the blacksmith, admiring the architecture and the history of it all. Sometimes in the fall and sometimes for the Grand Illumination at Christmas. So maybe this year I will make it to Busch Gardens also in Williamsburg fo
