Prayers Please

Hey Y'all,
Just a quick post to ask for your prayers please.
Lee's Disability hearing is at 12:15 eastern time Tuesday May 1.
Please cover us in prayer.
Please pray that he will get approval and that the decision date will be 2010. That is the best outcome  for us.
We really need this to be approved.
Regardless of the outcome we will praise God for all the blessings he has poured over us.
Thank Y'all
Your prayers mean the world to us.

Pink Saturday

Hey Y'all
How are you today? My vacation is going OK so far, come on in and sit a spell.

I'll grab ya a glass of sweet tea and we can visit. Speaking of sure to visit Beverly's Blog and meet some of the nicest people in blog land. I think I need a bigger wreath on my

So yesterday I posted a few things I wanted to get done on my days off, a trip to Michael's to use the gift card Marcia sent me last year was on that list, so off to Chesapeake we went. I did get the scoring board and a few other goodies and only spent $7.35 over what I had on the gift card I was a happy gal.
We had lunch, went to Lee's lawyer for a bit then went and  picked up some meds for him. He was having a good day too.
Then we came home...
I had the idea since our dog has already had a few fleas this spring we would put some flea powder on the carpets.I didn't want him laying on it or breathing it all in for the few hours we were gonna be gone, so we put him in our room and shut the door. We did that and came home to this!
There were paint flakes everywhere! It looked like a snow storm, there were pieces of veneer and paint in the hall that poofed out under the door!
This little fur ball called Cody (
He had food and water (which he also made a HUGE mess of) and the TV in the bedroom was on,
he was just mad we left him in there!
I am still ticked off at him! I am still scraping paint chips off the hardwood floor.
What a way to start the vacay...
I think I need a glass of wine now ;)

Taking a few

Hey Y'all,
How are you today?
I am taking a few days off from work, originally I had planned to be at a conference for christian women this weekend, but that didn't pan out... so I am feeling like I have not been living life to it's fullest and it is high time to change that!  So I figured that if I post some things here it will motivate me to get off my rear and live a little.

1. I really want to take a walk on the beach! It has been ages since I have been down there and I miss it!
sunset at the outer banks image from google search

2. I need to get a hair cut! I have been growing my hair long for a while now, I want to donate some to Locks Of Love and I am ready to do that now! Lee likes my hair long, so I have held off longer than I wanted to because for some reason it makes him happy. I however am over it and want a new look!

3 .Use the gift card Marcia sent me last year! I want a Martha Stewart Scoring Board and Michael's has them 40% off so a trip to Michael's for a few scrappy goodies is needed.

4. I REALLY want to get a new tattoo. I have wanted another for a long time, but $$ has been tight (still is) so I probably won't get it now...but I Really, REALLY want too. I want 2 blue birds and a heart on my wrist the birds are for each set of grandparents and the heart is for my sister...the problem other than $$ is I can't find the "right" birds...still searching.

5. I would love to have lunch, coffee, dinner...something with a friend, I have a few old friends I would love to spend some time with, I am hoping one can get together with me soon.

6. I want to go to the movies, it has been a while and I love going.

7. I want to sit around a fire made in my little fire bowl, sipping a drink, chatting with Lee and watching the stars.

8. Clean out my craft room and organize it better. I have started on this one today :) I can see the top of my desk again.

9. Then in my clean scrap room I need to make a set of cards for Jenn and I want to do a few scrapbook pages. AND start on a few handmade postcards for a swap I just joined.

10. Write a few letters.

11. EAT JUNK...LOL I had a package of Tasty Cake cupcakes today, tomorrow...

12. Try a new recipe...any suggestions?

13. Get a mani/pedi oh how I need both desperately! I used to get my nails done every 2 weeks, I had a french manicure and my hands looked so made me feel pretty too, which is something I do not usually feel and I would get a pedi once a month boy howdy it's been a long time since I have done that!

So those are a few things I hope to do over the next few days... I'll keep ya posted!

Q & A

Have you ever been to visit Tammy at Beatrice Banks?

photo from Beatrice Banks Blog
If you have not, you are missing out on so much!
Her home is lovely and she has the most inspiring posts.
I always have a  light and breezy feeling after visiting her.
On her post I read the other day she had been tagged and had ??? to answer.
I was NOT one of the people she tagged to answer her ??? but I liked the questions and decided I would answer and post them any way.
Feel free to do the same on your blog and /or feel free to leave your answers here. I love getting to know you and I hope you get to know me a bit better too.

1. Who was your hero growing up?
That is a tough one, my dad has always been my hero, on the silly side I would say Wonder Woman...teehee I would spin around with construction paper wrist cuffs with crayon stars on them. I even had Wonder Woman Under-Roos (remember them...HA!)
2.  What are 3 things you can't live without?
My Bible, Coca-Cola and Ice Cream
3.  Barefoot in the sand or a pretty pair of high heels?
Barefoot in the sand. I like to wear heels and feel pretty, but I love and adore the beach and barefoot is just more my style.
4.  What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
AGH! I have to pick 1...Oh I can't I have never met an ice cream I didn't like!  I guess it would be my mom's home made banana, you have not lived until you have had her fresh, home made banana ice cream.
5.  If you had to move to a state other than the one you live in, where would you move?
Texas, I love it there and I am married to a Texan. He talks about going back every year.
6.  When thinking about colors of the rainbow, which color are you?
RED, anyone who knows me knows
7.  If you could do anything, or wish for anything that would come true, what would it be?
Cure Diabetes. It is a horrid disease and my dad and husband have it.
8.  If you could visit any country in the world, where would you go?
Ireland. I have always wanted to go there, ever since I saw Darby O'Gill and the Little People when I was a child I have wanted to go to Ireland.
9.  Are you usually late, early or  right on time?
Late, I live with the pokiest man in the world, you'd think he was 89 not 49...sheesh!
10. Are you old fashioned?
I would say 90% of me is and 10% is more modern. In the last few years, we have learned to live much more simply and I have rather enjoyed getting back to the basics.
11. You've been given the choice of a vacation or a shopping spree. Which would you choose?

Thanks Tammy for a great bunch of questions that inspired you often do!

Pink Saturday...on a Sunday :)

Hey Pinkies how are ya? I love spending another weekend with the lovely Beverly ,and all the pink ladies in blog land. Please visit and enjoy all the pinkness there!
I spent all day Saturday brooding about what to share, I resigned myself to missing another week since I had no pink...then I realized I have an abundance of pink that surrounds me on a daily basis, the following are just a few candid shots as it occurred to me, and I grabbed my camera...which by the way is a Pink Nikon S4000.
Sitting beside me was my huge mug that was a gift from my friend Ruth.
My pink Bic Cristal, that I was using to write a note to a friend.
My pink Razr, yes I know, I's ancient as far as phones go...BUT it still works just fine and I do not have to pay for a data plan! :)
Oh and I was wearing a pink blouse today too, but you don't need a photo of that...teehee.
My very short nails are coated in Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Camo, which I love.
It is easy to put on, lasts a good while and is fun! AND I found a way to use them so that I get more than one set out of the package.
Then I laughed because right on my head I was wearing pink!
I braided my hair and tied it off with a bit of pink yarn!
Lordy look at those fly away hairs...ugh gotta love humidity and naturally curly hair even in a braid!

So I went from being bummed I had nothing to share to being surrounded by PINK!
The scary part is...this is only a small piece of the pink that is in my daily life :)
Not Bad, not bad at all.

Catchin' Up....Again

Hey Y'all!
I feel like it has been forever since I sat down here to visit.
I will try to do better.
Grandma Hazel was laid to rest on Saturday, it was a beautiful spring day and it was a lovely celebration of her life.  My dad delivered the most perfect eulogy. The cemetery she is in is the most beautiful peaceful place. It is perfect for her.

Easter was another beautiful day and of course I left my camera at home...yikes!
So I have no photos to share of the beautiful celebration of our Lord's Resurrection.
I am sure I can get some from the family so I'll post those at a later date.
We had a lovely day at my parent's church and then a fun filled afternoon at Beth and Steve's house, we all brought side dishes and Steve grilled chicken, hot dogs, and hamburgers...yummy!
Every thing was so good, my sisters and mom are great cooks and we always have a great spread,
We topped it off with these almost too cute to eat cupcakes that Laura made...ALMOST...LOL
She also made a big sugar cookie that was so cute with tiny marshmallow bits and flowers, but um I ate that

I also wanted to share the tags I made for the Tag-A-Month Swap at Tee's
Tee hosts the BEST swaps, you still have time to sign up for May, jump on over and join us!
The tag theme for May is Mother's Day.

OK first up is the quickie Egg shaped ATC  swap, this one went to Ana Christina in Brazil

I kept it almost too simple, but I liked it.
I used some yummy October Afternoon Paper (MY FAVORITE PAPER COMPANY)
and a vintage chick and added loads of bling.
I glittered the egg with some Martha Stewart crystal glitter it doesn't show up as well here, but it is chunky and to me has a vintage feel to it. I then added stickles to the chick.
I started to add some other bits to it, but again the more I added the less I liked it. So simple it was.
I hope she likes it.

This little cutie went to Judith in Australia.
Stickles are here again on this sweet little bunny boy.
I had a fun time putting him together for her.
I inked, I glued, I glittered,  I had a blast!
Judith has a great blog!
Just click on her name and it will lead you to her art!
She rocks and I hope she likes him as much as I do :)
She is the first person I have ever sent anything to in Australia,
I love that through a couple of blogs we get to share love and friends all over the globe!

and then to sweet Valery Anne

This adorable girl went to England!
Again, I inked, I stickled and I glued.
When I found out I was partnered with her I was giddy, I am such an ANGLOPHILE! sheesh, I know, I know, she is probably rolling her But I love so many things about Britain! Now I have a connection there! Sorry in advance Mrs.V!
LOL :)
So that is it for today. I will be back again soon and I hope to see you then,
Have a great day!

Grandma Hazel...

Last night Grandma Hazel went to be with Jesus.

In this photo on the left is Faith & my sister Joanne, on the right is Grandma Hazel, Marie ( I ThINK?) Kristen, Gary and Gary's folks.
Grandma Hazel is Faith's mom and Faith is my sister's Mother in law and Gary is her husband.
Kristen is Gary's grand daughter.
Have I confused you completely? It really sounds more complicated than it is...LOL!

Grandma Hazel is my brother-in-laws grandma, BUT she was our grandma too.
We loved her like she was our grandma and she loved us just like we were all hers too.
We were blessed to have her in our lives for over 18 years.
We will miss all the goodies she always baked and how nothing ever kept her down for long.
She was a GREAT gardener and one heck of a lady!
We are sad she is gone, but happy she is dancing with the Angels.
We Love You, and will always miss you.
